Hi all,
I'd like to get a cooler which doesn't completely cover my motherboard, right now I can't take out my video card without unmounting the noctua.
What are my options when looking at single tower cooler without loosing too much performance?
I'm on micro atx (gene v) too.
hi considered the h80i and it is an option for sure, i have to discard the h100 because it doesn't fit my case.
I didn't know this Spire Thermax Eclipse III: it is a better option than Prolimatech Megahalems?

If you go CLC make sure you have a good backup cooler cus CLC are not as dependable as air coolers.
Spire Themax Eclipse III is about 5c hotter and noisier than your NH-D14.
Why do you need to remove your NH-D14 to remove your GPU?

Warranty and dependability are totally different things which may or may not work together.
Corsair have a long warranty period but they have also had a lot of software/firmware, pump and noise issues with the H80,H100, H80i, and H100i CLC coolers.
warranty = a written agreement of how long a time a company will replace a product if it fails. Which may mean you have to pay to ship it internationally, may be charged for the testing if they say product is not defective, etc.
dependable = how well the product works and how long it will last without problems.
Many many people have had fan and pump noise problems, pump failures, and some leaks.
When the pump fails (and many have) your system will not run.. because H2O systems require the pump to move the coolant.. and if coolant does not move there is no cooling of CPU.
With air coolers they have no moving parts except the fan/s (which rarely fail). And if a fan starts getting noise and/or fails you can easily put most any fan on temporarily to keep system running while you get a new fan.
The heatpipes do have liquid in them but the only time I've heard of them failing is when they have been damaged and/or punctured by miss-use.
Only closed loop coolers worth getting are the Swiftech H20-220 and -320 Elite but they come at such a steep price that most would just look to build a custom loop...
Swiftech H220 really isn't a CLC. It's component kit assembled and filled before before you buy it.. about half way between CLC and custom loop prices.
I'm looking forward to seeing how it performs when expanded with GPU block and possible another radiator.

I just put a Zalman CNPS9900Max in my new build, and I'm getting great temperatures with plenty clearance for my RAM and everything else. The fan is quiet on mine, as well, so I highly recommend. I avoided most others specifically for the "room to work" issue as well as aesthetics.
