Run 2 hard drives without RAID?

ok so i want to run my IDE drive for windows, as it already has my OS installed and then run my new SATA strictly for games. I have the boot order to "Hard disk > CD Rom > Floppy drive" I made sure it loaded up my IDE drive, but now when i go to My Computer the SATA doesnt even show up, do i have to set the SATA onto the boot order in order for it to show up or how do i do this?

Chances are your SATA drive has not been formatted yet, and as such, it does not have a drive letter associated with it. Because of this, windows is not picking it up. Give me afew and ill see if I cant remember how to put a drive letter on it.

Ok, try this, go to control panel, administrative tools, computer management. Then go to the storage and click expand. See if the drive is there. If so press format or change drive letter/path. That should allow windows to see it.

Also, make sure SATA is enable in the bios and that you do NOT have RAID enabled in the bios

did you install the sata drivers for windows as well.. you do not need to set the boot order.. but make sure ya did install the drivers.. and also format it like the guy above said if its a blank partition you made need to make a partition out of it then format to ntfs then reboot it will then be assigned a drive letter and be seen by your OS
