Not necessarily cheaper, but you can get exactly what you want.
Find me a barebone for a laptop. Link please.

With that pwnage budget. Stick to either Alienware or Dell. If you get a laptop that pwns, you will have to get extra batteries or something. Energy consumption will be crazy.

Thanks MightAA, I was just about to list rjtech.com too. Also, just so you know, some of the brands you may not recognize, such as Clevo, are manufacturers for all the 'Brand Name' companies. For example, Clevo supplies Alienware, Hypersonic, Prostar, and Widow PC.

Thread Starter
lol selectodude, that was my first choice, and i still like it the most, but i found out that i need to run some emulation software called bootcamp in order to get windows on it, wouldnt that slow it down considerably because its being run via emulator? i would like to keep osx to play around with but i am a big fan of games like cs:s, and stuff that macs dont have on their os.

IMO you overpay a decent amount with apple, plus it can't run games without bootcamp + Windows. Although the price thing holds true for quite a few notebook vendors, so its an arguable point. Thats why I suggested the DIY route. Also with a Mac, why would you go the long route to get what you really want out of it, which is a Windows OS?
