Nice specs if true but I also agree that the bezel needs to be slimmed down. The IPad Mini is outselling the IPad not only because of it's small footprint but also because of the bezel size (one of my favorite features for reading with the Mini).

Samsung got it right this time around with their new release.

Also, again no Micro SD slot? Does Google go out of it's way not the read the gazillion comments on the first Nexus 7?

This will be my next Android tablet. Hopefully it will have better battery life than the Note version (which I ended up returning).

Google doesn't do the sd card anymore, you should know this by now. Who else doesn't have sd slot? Oh yeah, Apple!!!

Nexus devices will never have expandable memory slots, the most accurate answer they give is that apparently everyone will go on ebay and get the cheapest, slowest memory cards....then complain to google about slow speeds.

I thought the nexus line was aimed at tech enthusiasts...guess not!!! This alone will help samsung sell their 7' tab.

I'm one of those people that will refuse to use a nexus branded device, simply because of the no expandable memory. I don't care what the specs are, could be 10+years ahead of the competition and I'd still have the next best thing with expandable memory.

I see the ipad mini all the time, and to be honest I get jealous every single time due to the bezel, no wonder it sells like free crack!

Samsung have 8 inch tablets, it is the Note 8.0.

As far as the SD card or not debate, I prefer having SDs because they are significantly cheaper than paying for the higher than default storage options on Tablets/Phones and all I put on it are video/music/podcasts which doesn't need the speed internal NAND offers.

Google seems blind to the reason why most people want SD card: they want cheap storage space for their movies/music/podcasts which doesn't need more read/write speed than a class 10 SD card could offer.

So your jealous of Apple tablets which doesn't have expandable memory, that doesn't make since. There won't be expandable memory down the road, Sammy is one of the few still offering it, it's getting fazed out.

I'm jealous of the ipad mini because of the bezel. I have a TF101 and a TF300, both have HUGE bezels. My phone is a HTC amaze, if you take off the back cover, the phone becomes pretty much bezel-less and damn does it look so much better!

Less bezel = win.
