Kinzuv2 Replacement?

Thread Starter
I recently purchased a SS KinzuV2 to replace my IE3.0 and after 2 days the scroll wheel become loose and rattles whenever I move my mouse, I also noticed it doesn't track as smoothly as the IE3.0. Can someone recommend me a mouse that can go head to head with my IE3.0 but when newer hardware under the hood. The games I play are fps and need mouse with perfect tracking, no prediction, zero accel, etc. If there isn't anything better then the IE3.0 then, I might just keep it until something really good comes out, unless you guys can convince me otherwise.

1. What's your grip style? palm / finger grip

2. What's your sensitivity? 400dpi, 500hz., 2-3 ingame sensitivity for CS:GO

3. What's your maximum budget? $50

4. Do you want additional buttons? Doesn't matter

5. What games do you play? FPS Games - CS1.6/CSS/CS:GO

6. Do you mind about prediction? zero

7. Other relevant information: I use puretrak talent cloth pad, mouse needs to have perfect tracking on cloth pads, I prefer optical sensor.

Roccat Savu
CM Storm Spawn
G100s (possibly, I'm unsure about the sensor quality)
Zowie FK or EC2 if you're willing to spend more

After reading the reviews on the Roccat Savu, I ended up purchasing it, can't wait for it to get here. Once it arrives will give it couple days and report back and let you guys know how it is..

I had an ikari, it was a good mouse but didn't like the lod on it, don't know if they have fixed it recently since it was couple years back when I had it. If I end up not liking the savu my next mouse will be from Zowie.

I'm also a low DPI user and have tried the Zowie AM, EC2 eVo, and Savu.

None of them worked for me, all for different reasons mostly due to shape. The AM was the closest to perfect but it is just a bit too narrow and tall. That combined with the shape and texture (or lack thereof) on the surface make the AM a hard mouse to get a confident grip on. It's performance is very good though, and my FPS performance was very good with it but the mouse simply wasn't comfortable enough, my hand/wrist had a slight strain during usage.

The EC2 eVo performs identical to the AM but I liked it even less than the AM because the clicks are less stiff/precise (the AM has very stiff/precise mouse1&2 clicks, some people dont like it but I love them, I also have strong fingers due to playing musical instruments. I find most Omrons to be *too* sensitive) and also the side buttons have a mushy feel to them (in my opinion). Also, the surface suffers from the same kind of hard to grip surface. Zowie's rubber coating looks great and I'm sure is very long lasting but performance-wise I find it to be a worse performing surface grip than basic plastic mice. Your mileage may vary.

The Roccat Savu is also a great performer sensor wise, due to using the exact same sensor. It has more functional DPI steps than the Zowie's. And the rubber coating is a bit more to my liking. That being said, I had issues with Roccat the scroll wheel develops noise very fast and also the shape is slightly odd. The contouring on the left side is aggressive, in the sense that the thumb contour doesnt give you much working room. So, it forces your hand into a certain position somewhere between claw/finger/palm grip. I really wanted to like the Savu but in the end the noisy scroll wheel and overly-aggressive thumb contour made it uncomfortable for me to game with. The mouse needs to feel "invisible" in my hand, which is why I think I prefer ambidextrous mice actually.

In the end, I returned all of them ^ and ordered one of these http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/NEW-Arrival-BLACK-Color-Rubber-coating-Skin-Paint-SK-Gaming-Edition-Intellimouse-Optical-1-1-Brand/803343_459466219.html i'll let you know how it is when it gets here.

You can also get a new modded IME 3.0 http://www.aliexpress.com/store/group/Microsoft-Intellimouse-3-0/803343_210865825.html

Sorry for the delay guys the mouse just came in today after a week of waiting. When I opened the package I noticed the mouse was already used cause the mouse skates are scratched up and the driver disc is missing from the package, looks like this will be my last time buying anything off Amazon. My first impression of the mouse is pretty good, the shape of the mouse is somewhat different from the IE 3.0 that I used for so many years but I think I can get used to it. The tracking is so much better then the Kinzu v2 crap that I returned, it glides nicely across my Puretrak Talent mouse-pad.

I'm thinking about returning the mouse cause it was too narrow for my liking, I will know tomorrow when my Roccat Taito mouse-pad comes in and test it. If all fails I will revert back to my IME3.0 or get a IMO1.1 until BST's mouse come out.

Zowie AM/FK tracking is pretty close to it and considering you didn't reach the Kinzu's max tracking speed, the Zowie mice shouldn't be a problem for you.

I ended up sending back the savu cause it was giving me tracking problems on a black cloth mouse-pad. So I decided to buy a new cover for my Vintage Razer DA 3G that I used once and see how it goes.
