Random factoid.

Don't mind me, I haven't played in months.
I even bought the DLC from the store and still didn't play it.

NOOO!!!!!!!
First it was Kingdom Hearts 3, and now Demon's Souls 2 :/ If it is really an exclusive(which I'm guessing it will be) I think I might be getting a PS4 after all T.T And I just got my Core 2 Quad T.T

,Maybe I should pick up Demon Souls, I got Dark Souls for PC and am not too impressed. Is Demon Souls Hard or is it easy like Dark Souls.

The whole "Hardest RPG" is GREATLY Exaggerated. Maybe if your used to stupidly easy ones like Fable/Neverwinter/Skyrim with a shiny path/compass to show you where to go, then yeah maybe it was hard(For You). Most games are like that nowadays, because people are really ignorant and can't think for themselves. Arkane Studios had to dumb down Dishonored because people testing it couldn't figure out what to do and cried about it.

Games Like Zelda(NES/SNES), Baldurs Gate, Castlevania, and Metroid etc etc were exploration based, and you had to figure out where to go next. Enemies respawned etc etc. They also have FAR better stories. Nobody told you how to get such and such item or where to go. You just went places and used trial and error. They didn't have Youtube to help you either. You figured it out on your own or called the tip line.

Dark Souls Combat isn't hard if you play smart, learn the different attacks, and get their timing down. Once you got that down its cake.

Now that I have said all that Dark Souls is still a decent game, over hyped though. Is Demon Souls really that much better? Singleplayer better?

If you already own a PS3 you should pick up Demon's Souls, might be a little rough to buy a PS3 only for the Demon's Souls experience.

Exploration difficulty is the absolute worst kind IMO. Wondering around lost with no idea where to go is not my idea of fun.

If you've already played dark souls, you've taken out a lot of the demon souls difficulty, since the combat mechanics are about the same.

I have a PS3. I tried Demon Souls for like 15 minutes when it came out, and gave it back to my buddy because I got hooked on Dragon Age Origins(beaten start to finish 4 times).

Yeah my buddy brought it over and I went to the skele graveyard and my buddy was all "you can't beat them right now, run away" and I was like what are you talking about? I just smashed it, and smashed it again before it got back up, repeated till dead. Dudes charge you? Back off let him attack, backstep to get him off balance, Kick, and then smash him. The only challenging guys were the Black Knights in the beginning. All of which are basic tactics from lots of Action games, none of the concepts were new to me.

Im opposite. I think the shiny compass/path is boring and takes all the fun out same goes for Forced linear paths(FFXIII). There is a go between in older games, you had to talk to all the NPCs to figure out where to go(Like LTTP/Ocarina of Time, old FF games(Pre-Playstation)).

I hated the estus flask for healing and that there was no mana bar with limited uses for spells. I liked the weapons and armor gear morei n demons souls too. Plus since it was on PS3 only. You didn't have to deal with stat editors or people using trainers.

Check this video out for an example of how awesome PvP was in DeS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYtD0UR3NT8

edit: I also disliked the bonfire system. I liked the Nexus system way more from DeS.

The souls series isnt supposed to be brutally hard, its about learning from mistakes, it all ties in with the directors idea of what he wanted the game to be like symbolically.

The combat is second to none tho, i also feel demons souls was tougher, a better way to explain it is that the level design is a lot less forgiving i think, no bonfires etc, plus larger groups of tougher enemies.

The enemies in dark souls are easier to become familiar with. If you havent played demons souls then you should seriously check it out, dark souls was a little more user friendly.
