Dual Displays mystery with nVidia Manager

Thread Starter
I used to run dual monitors in Win XP where one would have the taskbar and the other would be just blank desktop space without the taskbar. I cannot figure out how to do that using my new monitor and nVidia Control Panel. The XP options I previously had have been supplanted by nVidia software.

Here is my new setup:
Computer A (Win 7 Pro) connected to Dell UltraSharp U2412M 1920x1200
Computer B (Win XP Pro) connected to Dell 1280x1024 and Dell UltraSharp U2412M 1920x1200

I want to display Comp B on the larger UltraSharp with the smaller on occasion. The UltraSharp toggles inputs just fine. But when I display Computer B, I get no option to set up dual monitors the way I described above. I only get:
  • Only use one display (Single)
  • The same on both displays (clone)
  • As one large horizontal desktop (horizontal span)
  • As one large vertical desktop (vertical span)

I selected the horizontal, but the taskbar spans both monitors and the resolutions don't match, so one display is forced out of native resolution. How do I set up dual monitors so the taskbar stays on the Dell 1280 and the Dell UltraSharp 1920 is extra desktop space while both use native resolution?

Thanks!

There is software that will let you set up your monitors any way you want.
DisplayFusion and Ultramon are 2 that I know of, I use Ultramon.
