I've been playing the new MS Flight simulator but the graphics aren't so great hopefully my new build will make it loom better but what other sims are out there?

I'm.coming from a netbook that replaced my old desktop here is what my new build will be:
i5 4670K
G1 Sniper M5
Sapphire Radeon Dual X 7970 in XFire
8GB DDR3
Qnix 27" 2560x1440

I love combat simulators also but HAWX isn't a true one... so what ones are out there?

Dare I say it, but War Thunder fuels my sim needs, whilst being WW2/Korean war and not modern, it still has nice sim features if you go Historical/Full Real Battles. Also F2P, which is a bonus.

Other than that, DCS is more of a 'true' flight sim so to speak, and I believe that DCS world is out, which has the SU-25 available for everyone and you pay to unlock more aircraft to fly with.

Ww2 and korean war flight sim? Hell yeah ill try that out. My hope is to eventually buy 2 more 2560x1440 monitors to make it feel like I'm in a cockpit. I need a flight setup first though.

You can try xplane 10 demo for free. It is not much better i think. Not on your GPU anyway, i can run it ok on

my laptop(when oc'ed to 1025 core 975 mem) but not with high level of objects.

I bought arma 3 for the vehicles, the hellicoptor showcase is fun - see youtube. Unfortunately the price have gone up now it is in beta, but it will cost more nov.1 when it should be finished.  Cares are bad though.

EDIT: neither is easy to learn, be prepared to read.

Yeah, planes start at reserve level, being things like the Polikarpov I-15 and the Gloster Gladiator, moving up to midgame with things Like Spitfires (Multiple variants), BF109's, FW190's, Yak/LaGG series and the later game being the Me163 Komet, Me262 Schwalbe, HE162 Salamander for the germans, Gloster Meteor for the brits, MiG 9/15 and Yak-15's for the Russians and the F86 Sabre for the US. Currently in beta, and planes get added every so often.
