Yamakasi Monitor Horizontally Compressed - HELP!

Hi There!

I recently upgraded my video drivers and immediately after it rebooted, the monitor connected via HDMI went all strange. Picture below.

I have changed the cable, reverted the driver, done a W7 system restore, changed to a DVI Cable, tried custom resolution profile and anything else I can think of and it's all the same, basically I can't get it to use the full horizontal width no matter what I do.

I am wondering if it's a hardware fault, if it's common, if it's easily fixed, or if I need to throw it in the bin?

Any assistance would be gratefully appreciated.

Try looking at your control panel of your video card (AMD's Catalyst Converter or Nvidia settings) and change the aspect ratio to 16:9.

From your picture it looks like it is set at 4:3 aspect ratio.

Thanks for the reply, I tried that and nope that didn't help unfortunately.

Maybe you pressed the aspect ratio button on the monitor. Try the /\ button next to the power button.

Your monitor has auto-adjust feature? Had same thing for my second screen the time I bought , used auto-adjust option and it was showing as it should after that.

Oh wow. I am embarrassed. That was the solution. I didn't even know what that button did. I definitely didn't touch it before but THANK YOU SIR!

You just saved me a new monitor! I am exceedingly grateful.
