QX6700 Temps - Page 3

Hello, I am from Spain and I am new on overclock.net. Since 2 days I have my new PC with QX6700, I have tested it with some benchmarks, and using prime95 with the QX6700 at 3065 Mhz and FSB 1225,84, the max Temp. it gets during the Torture Test and the Benchmark is 73ºC. At the same config. with the 3DMARK06 and using Atitool to increase my XFX8800GTX to 600 Mhz Core and 950 Memory, I get 7913 Score and the Temp. Rise to 58ºC.
I am using a water cooling system for the CPU:
Water Block Ketchannel V.5 - Radiator Black Ice Xtreme II - Water dep. Alphacool - Water pump D5.

http://img76.imageshack.us/img76/4186/dsc09175xt8.jpg

This is the Temp. with Cpu without working:
http://img223.imageshack.us/img223/1983/dsc09345cb1.jpg

And this is the same but at the normal CPU config:
http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/4672/dsc09316ar2.jpg

I think I have good temperature. The system works very nice and stable. The XFX8800GTX is very very hot, with the overclock at 600 core and 950 memory playing Dark Messiah M&M at 1600x1200 all options at max. gets a max temp. of 80ºC
http://img224.imageshack.us/img224/5535/dsc09330ov1.jpg

I am very happy with my new PC. I think I don't have to change hardware in 4 or 5 years. I am using XP Pro 32 bits. I think when I will use vista 64bits, all the hardware will work much better.

I suppose you understand my english (is not very good).
And I hope this information will be interesting for all you.

Thats fine, I have run mine at up to 1.58v, but normally about 1.42v-1.41v(overclocked). I think it must just be the hot surroundings, but it still does seem like a large jump.

Hi the only thing i can say is isn't your 3dmark06 score of 7913 really low considering the system you have,i mean i basically have the same system as you with the qx6700 and the 8800gtx and i have got over 14000 for my 3dmark06 score, there must be something wrong there.

yeah cool thanks,i guess the vcore rules out my high temps since mine is running a lot lower than yours, must be just hot surroundings i have.

Has anyone tried those Thermoelectric cooling kits before, there supposed to bring the cpu down to 0 degrees at idle and 0.5 at full load http://www.pccasegear.com/prod4654.htm looks like a better option than water, but i am curious to hear from people who have tried them before.

Hello garry, this score is with 1280x1024 with AA max. and anisotropic at 16.
I have made another 3dmark06 witch 1280x1024 AA none and anisotr. optimal and I realized all tests and I have 12114 Score.

I will try to overclock more the CPU and the 8800GTX to try to get the 14000 that you have.

When talking score, dont use anything other than default settings, firstly they wont be accepted in any tables/leagues. Also, they just make your score look worse =( - 12k+ is a nice score though!

I have not used that before, but 0c would be nice! Hefty price though!

Hi guys,
New to the forum. I had my QX6700 set up about a month ago. On air at stock, my temps was around 55C at idle and 72C at 100% prime95 load when OCed to 2.8Ghz.

Recently switched to water cooling. Am using the Swiftech Apogee GT water block and Swiftech MCR320 radiator with 3 120mm fans on it. However, still using a spare aquarium water pump (quite noisy) and an empty biscuit tin for a reservoir . the surprise was I was hitting 3.6Ghz at 1.44V with amazing temps. Temps at idle are 45C and 66C at load running 4 instances of Prime95 torture test. Better than I imagined.

So for u QX6700 owners, I think a good water cooler is the way to go for OCing. Hoping to get a better casing to improve airflow and maybe push for 4Ghz. Crossin fingers

i know its an old thread, but i got a xigmatek dark knight on my qx6700 at 3.52ghz 1.44v in an antec p180b with a ton of fans, and I idle at 40 and linX load at 66 so im matching your watercooling from 2 years ago? cool.
