[Truecrypt] With both of my hard-drives vitally important to windows, I cannot encrypt both.

  • What happened?
I have two harddrives. A 1TB seagate barricuda and a 128GB OCZ Vertex 4. Truecrypt can encrypt the hard-drive windows is installed on completely and easily. But I have my entire Users folder, including %appdata%, entirely registry hacked onto the HDD instead of the SSD. Truecrypt makes me change to volume letter of the drive Users is on and doesn't automatically mount the encrypted volume soon enough on startup, even if I encrypt the empty disk and THEN try to registery hack it into the newly-crated encrypted volume AND put it in favorites to automatically mount, it doesn't work. (Welp)

  • Are you able to reproduce this problem consistently?
Sure, but there's no way in hell I'm going to reproduce that again :S

  • What steps did you take to reproduce this problem?
Have two hard-drives. Install windows on one. Encrypt it with Truecrypt. Encrypt the other drive with truecrypt. Try to registry-hack the Users folder onto the empty HDD. Succeed. Reboot. Fail to log in.

  • What action did you expect to occur when this bug appeared?
Me logging in to my computer happily running on two encrypted drives, and the Users folder remaining healthy but off my precious SSD space.

  • Any additional information that will help us diagnose the issue:
If Truecrypt encrypted the HDD as hassle free as the SSD, there wouldn't be an issue.

  • Browser, active browser addons, and operating system:
    *IRRELEVANT*
    Waterfox
    Ghostery, ABP, some others...
  • URL where the issue occurs:
    Say wha?

ALRIGHT, THAT IS THE TEMPLATE FOR THE OVERCLOCKER FORUM BUG REPORT. Oops tongue.gif But it is still relevant to my situation.

there's your problem. keep it on the SSD. i hope this isn't about you worry about SSD endurance because it's a non-issue.

The reason is spaaaaaaaaace... it's the 128GB version and it's nearly full... and I record looseless videos in dxtory which can get absolutely massive plus I have a giant music library which is constantly growing. The Users directory is staying on the HDD. Do you know if the full-drive encryption will force me to change the drive letter or not?
