You can get a i5-3570K ($220)
+ ASUS P8Z77-V LK ($125)
for $345 total. I think it's well worth it when you're pairing $800 of video cards with in your system but that's just me.
The i5 outperforms the FX-8350; hence why I said i5/i7.

Therefore, there isnt value in him spending ridiculous amounts getting a completely new motherboard, as well as a more expensive processor, when he could just get an 8350.
