SDD, changing ram will bring little or no difference in anything but a synthetic benchmark.

The Samsung 840's look pretty boss judging by reviews and that it seem damn near everyone has one.

My main question now is, is the extra $40 for the pro worth it over the "standard" version?

840 Pro
840 "Standard"

Just for reference. Not sure if I'm going 128gb or 256gb yet.

Some say yes, some say no. Most people say that the non pro is less reliable. I have one, and it has been running strong. I think the issue is that unless you write data to your SSD intensively (like you would with say video editing or encoding), you should be fine.

If you could get the 250GB Samsung SSD, you could easily afford new ram and a maybe a new CPU cooler or some extra little fun device thumb.gif
