It does savewwhen theres juice running through the board though

Edit: so if I flash bios to p10 will I be able to go backwards still? I've read about stability issues with all foxconn bios's on this mobo but its worth a shot... And also is it best to use the foxconn update tool in windows to do this?

I would suggest trying to bios update utility from foxconn. Sorry to hear it's still not working properly.

Have you checked your board for any swollen capacitors? I know that was the final cause for my old motherboard not saving BIOS settings after unplugging the PSU.

Unless something bad happens with the update, you should not need to go backwards to an older version.

What else, if anything, are you changing in BIOS in order for it to need to be changed back to optimized defaults?

Theres an help thread i started for the bios changeshttp://www.overclock.net/t/1405985/help-strange-issue-with-foxconn-x58-mobo-fixed#post_20322146 but i forgot to inform you all that it took a hit on the bottom of the board during shipping(the most important thing). It looked like ups drop kicked the box and my floppy connector had bent pins and broken plastic shroud( what i didnt notice was the vbat discharge jumper right next to it was also bent (for clearing SB flash mem i think). Well went back and straightened those pins and whala works perfect.... Thanks for the help though it stoped me from tearing my hair out:D

Solved

Edit: now my i7 920 is priming @3.8ghz 1.21v
