Thanks for the reply. Will I notice this slowness with my WD Green for HD movies (like 12GB ones)? I'll never have any sleep modes, where I have to wait a second for the drive to wake up right?

Make sure your defragging your drives. Fragmentation is most noticeable with very large files.

You will be able to steam movies fine with the greens. If you want to prevent them from head parking just use a program like "nosleep" to write to the drive every 10 min or something and then the drive will always be spinning.

I've had no problem with the Caviar Blacks, but then i'm running the 1TB variation, not 3. Quietest drive i've ever owned, too, especially when compared to the Samsung F3's i had.

I have 2 2tb Seagate Barracuda in my sig rig and they were really noisy(lots of clicking almost sounded like they were dieing) but after updating there firmware they have been much quieter
