[HELP] Connecting PS3 to PC Monitor

Hello!

I wanted to connect my PS3 to me computer monitor. The monitor it's a HPw19 (Does not support HDCP).
If I Buy a HDMI -> DVI cable and connect it to the monitor DVI input will it work? If not, what alternatives do I have?

Thanks!

Yes it will, I currently do the same for both of my consoles, I have the hdmi lead out of the consoles and then into a dvi adapter into the monitor, only problem is the DVI input wont carry the sound through so you will have to have some sort of external audio able to plug into the spdif output of the console!

I was thinking of buying a RCA -> Jack 3.5 to take care of the sound, thanks a lot!

No problem,

I take it this is one of the chunky boxes rather than the slim though as the slim only has a optical audio and the AV vido output is positioned so it cant be used besides a hdmi lead?

Yes, I have the Phat version, so I am able to use both the HDMI and the AV outputs

Ah no worries then!

Enjoy!

Some games may only play at 480p due to HDCP issues, bluray might not play at all. I haven't seen a non-HDCP monitor in ages so I'm really not sure how well they work with PS3 these days.
