Heh, fond memories. I still have access to my old account from ~2005, most likely I'll never play the game again due to it's sheer robot-level grindy nature...but then what else was there to do during school holidays when we were only 12-15
The old soundtrack is especially something that brings back a RUSH of nostalgic memories, almost to the point of tears. Doesn't matter how amazing their new musical score is, nothing will strike my heart as much as the old midi-style tracks....warning, pain-inducing nostalgic tunes below if you played RS back in the day.... Warning: Spoiler!(Click to show)
Runescape is really not the kind of MMO you're supposed to focus hard on while playing, more like something that runs in the background while you alt-tab to proper/real games, or watch a movie/anime. Only when you were ready to put your stats to use (i.e. pvp/bosses) then things got really fun, it was all about stat-building and long-term rewards.
Anyway I'm still glad to see the game is going strong. Honestly thought the game would never recover from the HUGE hit it took when PK'ing, Staking and Free-trade was removed in one swoop but it has recovered, not to mention all those features are apparently back.
Also, Guthix died o_O ....was always more of a Saradomin fan myself
Everything in this post... Just, This. +rep when I remember.
HTML5 Runescape (Renskep) may warrant a login, just enough for me to poke around and see what's up. I really don't like what's become of the game, and have long since past the point where I log in just to talk to the few friends that remember me / still play

Agreed. I tried to find the source/name of the company but the game started to lose some of it's eh...Essence? When it partnered with the said company that I cannot think of. Company owns like 50% of either Runescape IP or Jagex itself, I cannot remember
Couldn't tell much of a difference from the last time I played graphics wise. Animations looked better. Not going to lie, I'll give it a try if I remember. Haven't played or even logged on for years. Was pretty fun for a while.
