Phenom II X4 965 BE unstable at any voltage when modifier > 20x - Page 2

Thread Starter
I have been adjusting the voltages labeled (in BIOS) as Processor and Processor-NB. I left Northbridge voltage alone.
I haven't really been very adventurous with CPU-NB, maybe I can get a higher clock with a higher CPU-NB voltage. The highest I've tried was 1.3V. Unfortunately in my BIOS every stock option is obfuscated with "AUTO", so I don't know what a stock CPU-NB voltage is. Can't find any monitors for it, either.

my 955 was able to boot and test up to 3.8ghz at stock voltage, are you able to do that?
anything close to 4-4.2ghz required 1.5-1.55v and a strong overclocking board. i don't have any experience with the one you've posted, but make sure your case airflow is sufficient (enough air going across those big vrm heatsinks)

does your board have any llc settings in the bios?

1.44V is my stock voltage. And I can get 4GHz with that.
As for LLC, can't find anything like that in BIOS.

Stock cpu nb maybe 1.175-1.2v.

phenom II above 4ghz require serious cooling and sometimes serious volts
