How accurate is MaXXMemm?

Thread Starter
My setup consists of AMD 8350 with Gigabyte 970a-UD3 mobo and Mushkin Redline Series 2x4 8gb of ram.

I currently have my pc overclocked to 4.8ghz and my ram at 1800mhz and 9-9-9-24 timings. I tested it with maxxmemm and got eh results but when I had my oc at a slowered speed with looser timings I got better maxxmemm results by a big difference.

This led me too two questions, How accurate is maxxmemm? And If anyone can help me overclock my ram lol. I have never really messed with my ram before but I want to get better performance out of it, even though I hear it makes small difference I would still like that small performance difference. I had it running at 2000mhz stable and got same score almost as 1800mhz. Then I loosened the timings and got better score by a big difference.

Can anyone offer me any help/tips for overclocking my ram?

Disable all the processes that aren't essential to the system, so antivirus, everything! Even Windows Explorer, then try running it smile.gif

Don't just tighten the main timings, try putting the smaller secondary ones down 1 or 2, I managed to get my Cycle bank from 40 to 13, big boost there and didn't expect any smile.gif

I just dont know to much what the other numbers mean never really overclocked my ram before so I didn't move them to much from where they were.

Not sure if they are all better lower or some are better higher
