Is this an official CD from Microsoft? Otherwise it could be an issue with the image you have put on the disk.

What are the specs on the machine to which you are trying to install?

As benpack101 said, the first thing I would check is that your Windows DVD is good. The next possible cause I'd check would be bad memory. After you verify that you Windows DVD is good, if the issue persists, I recommend running Memtest86 to rule out memory.

Especially if this is a new build. I just did a built for a friend, and everything seemed to work fine until we ran into Windows installation errors. Turns out he just got a bad ram kit from Newegg, so he's in the process of an RMA right now.

yup its OEM but legitimate disk bought from Scan.co.uk RAM is also working fine at 1866mHz once EMP was enabled in BIOS
