Welcome to my first OCN build log, hopefully i can bring you guys something wonderful and worth remembering.
Intro and about "Event Horizon".
I recently decided to upgrade just one graphics card in my old build(still in rig) but after finding a really good deal on an EVGA titan, i decided to get the EVGA hydro copper waterblock to go with it. At first i was going to mod the red led that comes with it to blue to match my old build. While waiting on the titan to arrive i got to thinking, what if i made the build all red instead of modding the block to blue? I was just going to change the color scheme in my old storm trooper case to red and go with that. But then ideas started rolling in my head on how i would do a new build if i ever decided to.
Well...i decided to. The idea of this project/build came to me when i was watching "How The Universe Works", i was interested in the black hole episode i saw and thought it would be cool if i could make a build that was dark with remnants of light sources that felt like they were holding on as much as possible while being pulled through a black hole. An event horizon is described as "the point of no return" to put it simply. In this case, the point of no return for the light that is being drawn in.
I had the general idea in my head about what i wanted to do, but i didnt know how i wanted to do it. At first i was thinking of just redoing my trooper to be a dark red with a soft glow of red leds creeping up from the bottom of the case, but i started thinking about a different focal point in the case to center the light around. I came to the conclusion that instead of just a general glow of lights coming from anywhere, i should use the light to accent some of the core components of the build, such as the processor, gpu, reservoir etc. So im going to try to focus on those key components.

Current Planned Layout -
So far im thinking of laying out the watercooling in the following manner (note this is a stock photo from google of the 900D i got so i could have reference points for waterblocks/radiators, none of the hardware inside is mine.)
Parts Acquired / Parts waiting on -

Planned Mods for the 900D -
Aluminum midplate to seperate the basement of the case from the rest.
Custom fan grills, with lighting behind them to make it feel like light is being pulled inwards.
I do plan on doing full acrylic tubing within the coming month on this build, im doing soft tubing for the time being though until i get a good feel for the case and can properly plan out how exactly i want to do the acrylic, ive seen builds that have come out amazingly with careful planning, and ive also seen builds come out looking ghetto rigged due to impatience with the tubing/routing layouts.
I also plan on doing a full custom sleeve job for the build, mostly black with red accents, this will be done in the coming weeks after the build has been assembled.
If you got past the way too long intro, congratulations, hopefully i didnt bore you to death with how i got the idea for this build
I hope you guys like what you see so far, ill take pics of the components i have on hand now and upload them in a bit.
Ill be updating the build log daily as all the parts should be arriving in the next few days and then i can get to the actual building
As always, im open to any suggestions, comments and criticism good or bad on this build. So please give any feedback or suggestions you have.
