7870 Tahiti LE or GTX 760

Thread Starter
hi guys,

could anyone help me with good suggestion about 7870 Tahiti or 760.

i really want to get GTX 760 but sadly in my country if i convert to US$, the price is 300$ for reference card and 330$-350$ for non reference card. even gigabyte 760 windforce cost around 400-430$ in here. HD 7950 also still at 330-350$ tag price.

i dont have budget that much for Graphic card, meanwhile 7870 Tahiti price is 240$.

i am planning to get 7870 tahiti for now, but i can't find the benchmark 7870 Tahiti VS GTX 760.

i want to know what kind of improvement i get if i spend 60-90$ more to get GTX 760 instead of 7870 Tahiti.

what do you think about that guys ?

and i always OC my card

note :

this is my first thread so forgive me for any mistake i made especially for my bad English grammar.

Many Thanks smile.gif

In my opinion the 7870 LE is slightly superior to the 760 anyways so you're good with that.

The 760 is slightly better than the regular 7870.

Can't find OC vs OC charts with Tahiti LE vs GTX 760. However, Guru3D's GTX 760 vs 7950 review, should give you a good indicator of the performance versus the 7870XT. Keep in mind that the GTX 760 in the article has a factory overclock to 1110mhz boost clock core.

Here is TPU's article on a non-factory OC'd GTX 760 Nvidia vanilla version: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GeForce_GTX_760/7.html

The GTX 760 more or less is the competitor to the HD 7950, not 7870XT. If you can find the 7870XT for under $210 imo, that would be a great deal. Otherwise, at the $250 mark, the GTX 760 is a bit more of a solid choice.

thx for link bro.

The 760 out performs the 7870 in a lot of titles:
1920x1200

BF3: Ultra quality mode
760 - 56 fps
7870xt - 48 fps

Crysis 3: High Quality
760 - 40 fps
7870xt - 31 fps

Metro: Last Light: Very High
760 - 41 fps
7870xt - 32 fps

Bioshock Infinite: Ultra/FXAA
760 - 65 fps
7870xt - 49 fps

Tomb Raider: Ultra/FXAA
760 - 72 fps
7870xt - 66 fps

The results are pretty consistent throughout all the games I looked at.

OP which country are you from ? the GTX 760 is faster than HD 7870 Tahiti LE. both at stock and overclocked.

also the Sapphire HD 7870 XT is the only Tahiti LE card worth getting. as it has a good cooler. whats your max budget. if you cannot stretch to 300 dollars then go with Sapphire HD 7870 XT.

from what i've seen the performance is around 10-30% 760 beat 7870 xt.. but for 60-90$ difference i think i'll go with 7870 xt just for now. thx bro.

thx man,... i am from indonesia and i cannot go above 300$. if you know that gigabyte windforce GTX 760 price is 400-430$ in here u must be think that was ridiculous too. asus 760 335$, MSI 760 Gaming 339$ the rest not release yet, only zotac that confirm that their 760 amp is 300$ which is mean their reference card is around 280$ in here.

and yeah that's true i only have 2 choices in here with 7870 xt sapphire 250$, power color 240$
