From what I read, Haswell are known for not being able to overclock that well, only a few were able to get a stable 4.5+. Since I had no current build, I figured going for the newest technology was the best choice for me. I haven't been able to play around with my CPU though, if you check My Build under my sig, you'll see what I mean. Currently broke the piggy bank for what I got right now, and at the moment its enough for what I'll be using it so far. But definitely not at its full, complete state.

Since 90% of games don't even utilize the power of stock clocks, I think the added features and new platform (1150) are a much better option for those who are looking for gaming/media/general use.

My thoughts exactly, and like I said, I had no build to begin with so I might as well opt into the new platform. So far I'm happy with it, just need me a GPU and a new keyboard and I'm set! thumb.gifsmile.gif

As long as the iGPU can handle League of Legends (which it can at High settings/Low Shadow), I'm fine with what paid for.

The HD4000 on my ivy bridge i7 gets about 20fps on Borderlands 2 @ 1080p (pretty much everything low except texture quality High). That's not bad for integrated and the HD4600 is supposed to be 50% faster.

I haven't tried out any other games except League of Legends, DOTA 2, Bastion, Minecraft, and Awesomenauts and they all ran fine for me on High settings. I have a few heavier games installed (Metro 2033, Chivalry, Crysis) ahead of time just waiting for a GPU, but I haven't actually tried them out. Although I'm positive that they wont perform any better than the HD4000, maybe a bit but not significant.

Kinda odd that your Frys isn't doing that.

He lives in California, we need that sales tax yo biggrin.gif. Fry's wouldn't even price check the coupon deal of a 3770k from Newegg for me.

Intel has come soooo far since their first iGPU. Geez how time flies in the tech world.
