Cooler Master EVO/Asus Z87-A CPU Fan Error Problem

Thread Starter
Just put all this stuff together and occasionally, on restart, i will get a CPU FAN ERROR! notice then it says Press F2 to Setup, then it takes me to the bios and i boot to my OS and all is well.

It does occaionally, in the bios, show that the CPU fan RPM's dip down into the red. but not for too long.

anyone else had this problem with an EVO CPU Cooler?

Make sure that your CPU cooler's fan is plugged into the fan header labeled CPU_FAN or similar. Even if it's plugged in another header, the board will think you aren't running a CPU fan. So either do that or just disable the warning in the BIOS. Also you could flash to latest BIOS if it's some sort of bug on that level.

Same here.

ASUS Z87 Pro - but I have the Coolermaster 212 Plus (not Evo).

Sometimes I get the CPU Fan Error, sometimes I don't.

I have upgraded to the latest bios (1205) - no relief.
