Alternatively, it's just marketing buzz or simply an idiot in the marketing department that will be just shut down when the geeks inform him that it doesn't work.
Sit and watch as an OEM vendor slaps a 5 GHZ! tag in front of the case and sell it for rich people with no knowledge on the matter.
AMD's profits are not going to increase by any significant margin with this release, while it is the first "out of the box" chip to reach 5.0 ghz, the price tag is just ridiculous.
Tech guys, like people in OCN and other communities will see this for what it is, PR stunt, overpriced factory oc'd CPU. But this will hardly hurt AMD, it's just a release that will get their names on the midia.
To be honest, I want AMD's next release to be a good one, put some pressure on Intel and maybe they'll step their game with Haswell-E so that I might have a reason to upgrade.
