: If you are repairing your own phone, either you are really damn good at what you do because you do it for a living, or you are about to kill your phone because you don't know what you are doing. Very few people bother to repair their own phones. And for those that have the knowledge, they'll know how to repair it easily. Non-issue.No extended memory
: 32GB (or 64GB if you choose to get it). Same memory scheme as Apple. I see a ton of people buying the iPhone, whether you hate Apple or not. After taking many 1080p video recordings and uploading 3/4th of my ~3000 song library, I still have about 18GB left. And that is with a ton of games on the phone. So many people make this to be an issue, but when they end up getting a phone with a SD card slot, they never end up using close to that much memory.Sharp Edges
: This shows me that you have no clue about this phone. There isn't a single sharp edge around the entire phone. It has a bezel around the entire phone. If you think that has a sharp edge, I pray that you don't touch a knife. You might find that the knife is actually sharp.Questionable build quality
: I don't know what you are honestly smoking, but compared to the SG4, the HTC One actually feels like something in your hand. It has a build quality that far surpasses even the iPhone, which is honestly a de-facto standard in phone build quality (hate to break that to you). And you can not keep the phone clean
: You can't keep ANY phone clean if you don't actually try. A GS4, iPhone5, Lumia, etc. will all get dirty if you don't take care of your phone. That's the nature of a cellphone. The HTC One is no different. Going on 2 and a half months now with the HTC One, and that plastic band around the phone hasn't even gotten a single hint of discoloration after being handled in my sweaty hands. No different from the quality of the plastic used on the GS4, except the entire phone isn't built in plastic.
You state it yourself. Apple has a fanbase, HTC doesn't. That doesn't mean the HTC One is a bad phone. They don't have the market capitalization to afford the insane ad propaganda that Samsung and Apple put out about their phones daily. That doesn't make it a bad product, and they have no need to con people into buying it.
If you want a removable battery and an SD card slot? Then by all means there are other options out there.
If you want a spectacular build quality that feels like something is actually in your hands, then there really isn't a choice out there. The HTC One is by far a higher build quality than even Apple's iPhone.
And it honestly goes to show that you have no clue about it, or have actually used it for an extended amount of time. Heck, in fact my older phone, which used to be an HTC Inspire 4G that I got for free had its removable battery last almost a 1 3/4ths of a year before there was a noticeable change in battery life. And that battery lasted forever on a full charge.
