I had been meaning to fix that asinine extra space every since I bought the scale but it had never caused me an issue until now so I kept procrastinating. I never understood what the
point of having it there was. Did the designer/engineer not realize that the end user may need to take a measurement that it would cause a problem such as an inside dimension.

One of the first thing I did was to shape my mesh for the top handle and I had left it be since I was not sure how I was going to attach the mesh to the handle. I considered adhesive
but was leery because I don't know exactly what the handle is made out of and didn't want an adverse reaction with the handle. Well I came up with a solution that I think will work well
it will be quite tedious though. I am going to use some tiny screws to join the mesh and handle, tiny may be an understatement miniscule is more accurate.

.060" x 3/16" screw, 3/64" drill bit, .035 allen key and fan plug for reference.

I think I might have to connect my camera to my laptop and use it as a magnifying glass so I can see what I am doing, the old eyes aren't what they used to be.

I think this procedure might get a little hairy. biggrin.gif (couldn't resist)

Thanks and I am anxiously anticipating your final product also. Our builds have quite a lot in common and drastically different at the same time.

Well I was able to accomplish a few things this weekend.

I finished running my PSU through the shrink ray.

I used my quickly made Dremel router table to route the step in the window so it sits flush with the outside of the panel.
Still need to repaint the panel and vapor polish the polycarbonate (Makrolon).
One of the pics to show the fit of the panel/window came out a bit fuzzy sorry need to improve my photo skills.

Finished the mesh for the top handle and repainted the handle.
You can't tell below but the color/sheen of the paint I used (Rustoleum Camo Black) matches the factory soft touch very well when they are placed side by side
Not sure whether I am going to keep the mesh the same color as the handle or make it match the main case.
What do you think? (mesh color/sheen)

Mounted a couple of old hard drives to the front so I can start figuring out cable lengths.

Not pictured but I used my router to make guide rails for the motherboard tray from some black plastic.
