Don't get me wrong, really looking forward to trying the consumer Rift. I think they should have just went with the 1080P screens from the start as there is no point with the low resolution developers kit which will be worthless come the consumer version. Remember, last I heard the consumer version was still a ways away in 2014.
Okay that was a quick judgement.
Its not for everyone i get that, but i can honestly say that im proud to own one. Ive shown it to a number of people and all of them were impressed(or i just have too polite friends). Maybe we had lower standards or something like that. The fact is that sony hmd is the best consumer level hmd at the moment even though comfort is absolutely terrible. Pretty confident that the oculus will change that by a huge margin, but we are still pretty far away from consumer version as you said it.
Did you get 100% clear image from the start? I had a mixed feeling from the first tryout, image was somewhat blurry and it felt kind of small. Goggle mod helped me to get my eyes closer to the lenses and get 100% clear image, size also feels a lot bigger now. For a reference, i have 120" screen, i sit about 10' from it and sony definitely feels much larger and has much better PQ.
And i meant that are you l88bastard(couldnt remember the name right hence the "something like that") in avsforum but you already answered that.Edited by perkeleprkl - 7/6/13 at 11:50pm
