I don't know about pricing outside of Australia, but a usually a GTX 670MX cost about the same as a 7970M to upgrade. Don't know about ASUS since there is RARELY any gaming notebooks here, but alienware's charges ALOT on nvidia gpus. The GTX 680M cost about $400 more than 7970M.
