Tegra has been a disappointment ever since Tegra 3 came out. Underwhelming performance, underwhelming features, nothing innovative other than MOAR CORES.

Search my username and Tegra, every post Ive made numerous posts saying Tegra wouldnt sell well. The competition is well established, their product is inferior (what manufacture would trade battery life for GPU performance?) , its more expensive, and requires additional coding.

The way I see it, is Tegra will be gone in the next few years, x86 will invade the tablet space, and the only companies to gain phone marketshare are samsung with exynos, and a couple percent for intel with atom

Haha yeah, you're spot on about a few things smile.gif

It'll take more than LTE to save the Tegra 4i. After Tegra 3, I'm pretty sure most manufacturers learned not to use Tegra in their devices and just stick with Qualcomm or get other manufacturers.

The 4i will be more power efficient, etc. but besides the GPU performance, what does it offer that the S800 wouldn't? The Adreno 330 chip is already a pretty significant upgrade from the 320 and the 320 was sufficient for most games/uses. Mobile gaming doesn't require too much just yet (especially given the battery cost when the gpu is pushing hard stuff).

If the OUYA and other android consoles were coming with the Tegra 4, then yes, it would sell more but at the point, idk. People want efficiency for mobile markets, not just more power
