Hi Guys,

I play xbox and ps3 on a 1080p monitor and it looks horrible, even with the xbox 360 upscaling chip it looks terrible!

Wanted to find a pc/ps3/xbox monitor where all 3 will look good without breaking the bank, anyone have a good recommendation?

I have seen these new samsung monitors have "magic upscale" anyone have one of these?

And it looks terrible on your Dell 24"? Which model of Dell do you have? and all 3 systems should be able to set native resolution to 1920 x 1080 for your monitor, so "scaling" shouldn't be an issue.

Most sub $200 monitors aren't likely going to look any better than the Dell you have as generally Dell monitors are some of the top out there. You might have another issue going on there

Also, what are you using to connect the displays to the monitor? (and you're not comparing your PS3 / 360 graphics to computer right? PS3 / 360's have significantly older GPU's that don't include AA or many other modern features)

yah anything native 1080p looks great, and I understand that ps3/360 aren't going to look as sharp as the max native resolution any of those games have is 1280x720. However, I played xbox upscaled to 1080p on my buddies 40" LED tv and it looked great! For some reason it looks really bad on mine. perhaps they just look better on tv's as opposed to monitors. And i use hdmi always.

Likely because you are sitting significantly closer to the screen than to your friends 40" TV, try sitting back a bit, it will make things look a bit better, though the viewing distance issue is always going to be inherent with smaller computer monitors.
