{Game} has stopped working

I've been getting the error playing BF3 with my latest overclock

I let Unigine Heaven 4.0 run through 3 loops, and ran OCCT Medium Data set for 20 minutes .

Core peeking at 51C, no throttling.

It's quite warm in OCCT, stays in low 40's in BF3 (43C average)

Video card sitting at 54C.

I can't figure out the issue. I've loosened my timings, and given my NB and vcore a few bumps each but the problem still happens.

So the system is seemingly stable, I can run everything, and only stopped OCCT after 20 mins because of two reasons, I dont like stressing a cpu for too long, normally anything over 10 minutes will be fine in gaming situations anways, and I don't like it running at 1.6v vCore as it sits at 1.56-1.57v gaming.

Is there normally something common that can cause a game to crash like that? I've tested everything seperately and I cant seem to figure out whats causing it...

It seems it may be a driver issue, this is the windows error report

Hi.
2 things. First, try to use a different GPU driver, one that you know was good with BF3.
Sidenote. Your CPU is a Thuban, which means that it is a modified Opteron (Istanbul) to run on AM3 systems. Not so tolerant on voltage as a Deneb, because of an extra non conductive layer. You are way too high on vcore, even for water. (maybe not related to your initial problem, which is driver issue 99%, but I think that 1.52v on water should be your absolute MAX,and well in the danger zone for degredation if the use is 24/7). And do your troubleshooting at stock. Especially your GPU. And just for the info, CPU instability may occur anywhere between 50-55*C. thumb.gif

I actually don't have it close to that vcore, I have her at 1.52 idle peeking at 1.54-1.55 gaming, 1.57 during prime, and 1.56 during occt.

I had just bumped it high for testing purposes, don't worry, I'm not that crazy tongue.gif

I had a non paged area error, (which is memory) so I loosened my timings which seems to have solved that. I then got a couple of drive related bsod's one of which was ahci.dll. So I ran sfc and found a few problems that It couldnt resolve, after several different methods, I just did a windows repair which eliminated the remaining errors.

I'm now in the process of installing the windows updates.

So there was a few problems it seems.

I also upgraded from 13.6 beta to 13.6 beta 2. But I also believe that the other problems may have been contributing towards the ati driver fault, but newer drivers are generally a better idea, even the beta, amd are pretty good when it comes to drivers.

Once all these updates are finished I'll see if I still encounter problems with BF3 (it seems to be the only game that it happens with)

I also forgot to mention that I ran OCCT GPU:3D Error Checking with shader complexity 7 and Memory Used at 2GB at the clocks I was using, I did get about 48 errors every 45-55 seconds so I backed down the core clock 20mhz and it was running for about 15 minutes, peeking at 61C with no errors this time.

Once I stop the crashing errors, I'll be reducing the voltage as low as I can get it to be stable at, is using games a good way to test that? As generally you can get away with a few mV less versus stress testers like prime and occt. Would be kewl if I can get her below 1.50 at 4.25Ghz

Okay so I ran sfc again and I got a some errors.

Is it anything to be concerned about?

Instability, man. Try stock clocks to see if the errors persist. Painful, I know, yet it's the only way to do proper troubleshooting. Sorry for late answer, different time zone...
