PC Optimizer virus?

Thread Starter
Hi everyone,

Sorry if I didnt post this in the correct threat but i was scanning my computer and there was an infection detected called PC Optimizer and a couple other ones I couldnt not get in time before Spyhunter4 scanner crashed.

I dont go on bad/suspicious websites, I'm a fairly safe browser and I honestly have no idea how I got these infections.

I was wondering if anyone could please recommend some good free malware/av software to remove all this.

I'm currently scanning with super spyware and then moving on to malware bytes but not sure if those would pick all the rodents up.

Any advise/tips is really appreciated!!

Thanks!

Try Avast + AVG or MSE. In most cases, you'll have to perform some manual cleaning, AVs lately are very good at Detecting viruses, but plain suck at Cleaning them.

Try Malwarebytes, it's free and good at getting rid of junk.

I've used both free and paid versions of virus removal software and nothing comes close to Malwarebytes.
AVG would probably be great for protecting.

I would run these programs in this order:

Rkill- stops virus's so you can remove them

Malwarebytes

Malwarebytes anti root kit

Reboot after all that and run malwarebytes again to verify removal. Combofix is a last resort.

I would at least create a restore point before any manual removal/ deletion of windows files.

Yes, this is good advice. I've also used the Rkill for pesky virus issues that don't like to be removed.

I'll save the files and not delete them then and just follow the order you listed. Thank you all for the help, ill get back hopefully soon with good news.

EDIT:
Update: hello again, was busy yestarday but I went through that list of software and it seems everything is good.

Thanks for all the help!
