Advice for Mamba 2012 vs Deathadder 2013

Has anyone used both of these? The DA 2013 seems to get fairly unanimous positive reviews, while the Mamba seems to get like a 3 out of 5. Spec-wise they seem the same, and they seem almost identical in shape and weight. Does the Mamba just get a bad rap for the wireless, or high price? If it's plugged in, is it just as good as the DA 2013? I'd pay the extra $50 or so to have the wireless option there to use when I want.

wireless always seems to get a bad rap, but the mamba is probally one of the best wireless you can get. the price is alittle high, but no good wireless mice come in under the $100 mark. i been using a razer DA forever and still think its the best gaming mice made. sometime today i'll be upgrading to the newer DA 2013.

Mamba has philips twin eye sensor that tracks movement on 3 axis. Tracking is inaccurate because of dynamic dpi scaling(that was made to fix jitter when you click or press mouse down on cloth pads), if your moving the mouse slowly it will lower dpi to prevent cursor jumping from z axis tracking, basically it feels like mouse has horrible acceleration.
+ Its heavy with batteries, and wireless has lots of problems with disconnects and other annoyances.

If for some reason you are choosing only from these 2 mice then get DA 2013. It has smoothing that makes tracking delayed.
Other good choices are:
Logitech G100
Logitech G400
Roccat Savu
Zowie EC1/EC2 (almost same shape as DA), AM, FK
Corsair M30 (Similar to DA), M40
DA 3.5G

My Mamba 2012 served me well in my time with Team Fortress 2 competitive. It's the best wireless gaming mouse on the market.

However, I have switched to the Zowie EC1 eVo recently (better than the Deathadder 2013) for CS:GO, and that is what I recommend.

I would recommend against Razer hardware, they are all design and show and no quality / functionality.

After owning both a mamba and a black widow, I will never purchase a Razer product again.

Software is bloated and clunky, the keyboard had fading/discoloring in the first two weeks of use. The mouse lasted two years and failed, it also had problems such as ocassional bad tracking or where I needed to disconnect/ reconnect it again for it to work. Battery only lasted more than one day when it was new, so I ended up using it in wired mode for the two years it lasted.

I still have an 8 year old logitech mx518 which works flawlessly, and has no bloated driver/software. It took Razer more than half a year to fix an issue where the mamba driver would max out one of your cpu cores ALL THE TIME.

If your going only for out of the new Deathadder 2013 is better. Personally I perfer the 3.5g black edition since I never go above only use 450 900 1800 dpi and I like the feeling of the coating and the clicks over the 2013. As for the tracking compared to the 2013 im not sure about it . The 3.5g though works best with the legacy drivers. since synapse decreases the max tracking speed on the 3.5g
