Backlit Keyboard

Thread Starter
I've recently finished building an actually good PC that can deliver some decent performance [sig rig], and I am now looking for a keyboard to match (I already have a mouse). I've already spent just about everything I have on the PC components, so my budget is pretty tight - something around £20 or cheaper preferably. The only thing I am really looking for is one with any kind of illumination so that it can be used in the dark. If I'm playing games, I'm usually playing them long into the night rather than at daytime, and It's annoying to need a light on just to see the keyboard. Obviously I know where all the keys are but if I take my hands off completely for whatever reason, getting the fingers back into the right position is pretty arduous. I know that most backlit keyboards are pretty expensive, but I'm really just looking for something cheap and feature-lacking - I am not bothered about things like numpad, mappable keys etc, as long as the keyboard is UK.

I've found 2 possibilities so far, but there is little to no professional review on them so I am not too sure whether to invest. If anyone owns either I would love to know your opinion. And If anyone can suggest alternatives that would also be great smile.gif

I should mention that my PC has red LEDs, so a keyboard with red lighting is preferred, but any colour will do.

any possibility on finding an MS Sidewinder X4 for a good price? It has red LEDs and I have the X6 which is quite a good non-mechanical keyboard for both typing and gaming. It also has really good durability so I would expect similar from the X4.

You could also search for a used Saitek Cyborg v1 that features red LEDs.
