Questions for Eyefinity set up(dumb questions possibly?)

Thread Starter
I've never done eyefinity before, but the GPU in my laptop and its video out port array supports 3 monitor out and others have done eyefinity with their AMD 7970M laptops.
So I've got a few questions.

Some stuff I already know.
My system has 3 video out+native screen
HDMI out(male)
VGA out(female)
miniDisplay port out(female)
As far as i understand I need at least one active port adaptor and 2 passive ports. Meaning I need an Mini DP to DVI active adaptor
So as for adaptors I need only 2, HDMI to DVI out, and MiniDP to VGA/DVI out Active adaptor.
And then ofc I can use the native VGA for my 3rd monitor.

Any suggestions on Mini DP to VGA/DVI?
I've found 3 on newegg that supposedly work
1. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882158103
2. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815242004
3. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815309008

the startech one has the best overall appeal because looking at their other products it seems the least likely to fail.
the cirago looks unpromising but 3x5 egg reviews maybe its not trash?

Any better suggestions than these for a low price?

Also how are Asus monitors? Can their low end monitors be trusted?
I'm looking at getting a triplicate of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236314

I'm not a fan of huge giant monitors I like smaller screen spans with higher pixel density and these look about right at 19.5inch@900P res.
They also have div and VGA ports with both cables so they look like a pretty dang good deal so far.
Should I check out a different set? or are these pretty spot on for what I want

A note: My budget for this is about 400$ max, the eyefinty is just rather for the effect not so much extreme stuff and it'd be nice to have a triple screen span for my video editing.

Any suggestions or advice for this? I'd like to have a set idea before I buy things and end up wasting cash on something I didn't need or what not.

Thanks for any advice, I've never done multi monitor gaming before. and would like to give it a shot since my laptops GPU can handle it at the resolutions I expect.

1. How many programs do you run at once?
2. Do you have a desktop with a AMD card as well?
3. ASUS monitors are fine, no matter low end or high end, never had a bad experience with an ASUS product, though you may be able to find a better BenQ product for less money.
4. IMO I would not even bother with 5760*1080 or 3 monitor gaming with a laptop 7970M. I have 2 7970, but 1 7970(non M version) with an average overclock(1200/1700) does not cut it when it comes to 3D applications(ie; games), however it does work great for 2D programs such as; Video editing and coding, depending on how many programs you run at once, it may be beneficial to have the extra monitors, but I would be aiming for 4:3 resolution(ie; 1280*1024) if you wanted to do some gaming on said laptop/set-up.
