Advertising doesn't mean advertising anymore, it is all about traffic, someone scrolling over one of those tiles on the Xbox One's interface, will give X amount of money to Y company. No adverts are really real anymore. It isn't about the product or whether you care about it or not, it is a business, and someone is sat there laughing at us for giving them the chance to make money out of our standard every day lives browsing the web, regardless of which device we use.
It is just a shame it has plummeted its way into everything we do. Regardless of whether we read them or not, our information is being sold on, now the thing that really gets me, is I get advertisements for things I've bought from a shop on my card, or websites I've been on, or words I have typed into my browser, mainly Facebook has been doing this. If I write "STARBUCKS" here, I reckon I'll probably get an advert on YouTube at some-point about it. The tricky thing is, now they're tailoring adverts to you, so sometimes, you go... "Oh look a new case from Lian Li is on scan.co.uk, etc..." and click it. So basically money is just coming out of thin air, literally, and there is nothing we can do about it.
At least someone smart has gone "what if they don't want to read about our new line of drinks, maybe they want to read about what they normally read about, like a friendly suggestion of what to buy with their money, by looking at things they already buy"... consumerism is the end of the human race as we used to know it.
I mean, we're all sat here chatting to each other, giving our own opinions, when most of that information is now obtainable over the internet, which makes you think "why bother even talking, or discussing, when we could have all the information at hand without even doing anything", can you imagine when advertising gets that powerful, it starts advertising knowledge? So we don't get into arguments over nothing?
C'mon, how many arguments could be solved by more knowledge of that particular subject? Tonnes...
How do you pronounce that... "I think it's this"... "no it isn't it is this, well that is what I heard anyway".... "how could it be that when it is spelt this"....Shut up you fictitious morons and google it, the time you spent arguing over semantics you could be learning quantum theory.
Xbox One, thank you for never discussing games that we come to you to find out about, instead, I cannot agree more, adverts are what we need, we can't possibly live or game without them, we'd never know about any game if you didn't tell us it existed, we can't google it for ourselves... that is too hard, I never click on "IGN" and browse by genre to find new games, I never spend hours trawling through forums talking to people about games... I just want you to tell me, I give up.... -_-
