Which ultrabook should I get?

Hi guys! So after being stuck with my MSI EX465 for almost 4 years now, I finally have gathered enough funds to buy a decent laptop. I wanted to buy an Ultrabook (light and thin) because I would carry it around with me almost all the time in the university and in the hospital (medicine student). My budget is around $1200 but I could raise it for $200 more if the item is really good. So far here are my two choices:

Toshiba Portege Z930 Ultrabook - $1295

The reason for these two is that I have trusted these two brands since my two brothers own an HP and Toshiba laptops and both are working really well up to this time. I'm not really a gamer so I don't need high end GPU. All I care about is the speed so I would prefer to have an SSD and both laptops have one with HP having the advantage because it has 256GB SSD than Toshiba with only 128GB.

So what do you think guys?

It looks like the SONY VAIO T Series SVT15117CXS is a really good Ultrabook in your price range.
Some of the features it has:
- Mobile i7 CPU
- 8 GB of DDR3 memory
- 32 GB SSD for your OS and 1 TB for your files
- Only weighs about 5 lbs.
- Full HD and LED screen
- Backlit keyboard
- Integrated webcam and microphone
You said you're not much of a gamer, so the Intel HD 4000 should suffice for you. The only bad thing about it is that the OS is Windows 8, but you can always reformat and install Windows 7, or even better, Linux smile.gif. Anyways, if you decide to stay with Windows 8, the laptop is touchscreen, so I guess it makes Windows 8 a little more tolerable.
Good luck in your medical degree! thumb.gif

I would get a Thinkpad X1 Carbon but it doesn't have haswell yet. I'm actually waiting for that to come out and will pull the trigger as soon as it does.

Thanks mate! haven't really took a look at Sony laptops. Thanks for letting me know that such laptop exist. However I would want to purchase this in Australia. I can't seem to find the same model over here.

I'm also looking at this one: http://www.lmc.com.au/products/Notebooks_and_Laptops/HP_Compaq/581007/HP_Envy_4-1118TU_(C7E64PA)_TouchSmart_Ultrabook

What do you think?

I was able to find the exact SONY laptop model in Australia here, but for $1372. Even though the HP one is $422 cheaper, you lose 4 GB of RAM, a mobile i7 CPU, 1.5" of screen size, 500 GB of HDD space, Full HD, a touchscreen for Windows 8, and a backlit keyboard if you go for the HP one instead. I would go for the SONY one instead, even though it exceeds your $1200 budget, because you did say you would raise the limit if it was a really good laptop, and it is smile.gif

EDIT: Also, sorry for the late response redface.gif.
