Can anyone find me a monitor with these requirements?

Hi all,

Birthday soon, thinking of a monitor upgrade (from a U2412M) I'll preface this by saying that my eyesight isn't the bast, so the obvious thing you'll read in a second will make sense. Anyway, what I'm looking for (must-haves marked red):

27"
1920x1080 / 1200
VA / IPS panel
VESA mountable
Matte/semi-matte panel

USB ports
Matte bezel

I'm not necessarily ignoring 2560x1440 panels, it's just that they'd probably be wasted on me, and considering they're more expensive to buy, and drive, I'm not really that interested.

I've considered the GW2750HM from BenQ, but the glossy bezel, and lack of USB ports aren't great. Samsung has an S27C650D on the way that looks like it would fit the bill nicely, but it won't be available for a while.

Anyone any other ideas?

I'll be honest, I never see the pixels on 1080p. The advantage of 1440p is that you can have more things on screen at once, and it is just much easier to use. The extra real estate is very useful.

Also, 1080p would make aliasing more visible at 27", so it may end being harder to drive as you turn up AA to fix this. The only way you can tell (with your eyesight) is to see the difference in person. If you have any friends/shops that can show you the difference try and compare.

You will notice the extra real estate - just because you can't see them individually doesn't mean you won't see the effect of nearly twice as many pixels.

With the amount a new monitor costs I don't think you're really going to get value for your money with anything other than upgrading resolutions. You'd be better off upgrading your GPU (if you game).

P.S. Your keyboard has two USB ports, what else do you need?

I know it does, yeah. wink.gif I don't like my keyboard's USB ports though. I find ports on the side of a monitor to be infinitely easier to use.

Looks like a solid choice, except for the USBs, obviously.
