PC Crashing..

Dota 2 usually crashes (like green blue horizontal lines) after 2 or 3 matches. No other game till now has crashed like that (Tomb Raider, BatmanAA, FableIII, Dishonored, Witcher II). I thought its just dota 2 because other games never crashed (Tomb Raider, BatmanAA, FableIII, Dishonored, Witcher II) on full settings.

Until recently I was playing Remember Me on full graphics and it crashed too after like 1hr 30 mins of gameplay. It was green/blue lines on the screen with the Audio still playing in the background.

A dota 2 crash causes the audio to repeat with those lines.

Also for Dota 2, I can usually see visible artifacts for a split second (weird 2-3 diagonal lines).... but in no other game have I experienced this. It is hard to tell if there were artifacts In Remember Me because the game itself is designed like that.

So, I want to give my GPU a stress test, overnight and see if my system crashes.

Any good software for GPU stress tests? I know there is Furmark, but it overloads beyond realistic loads right? Any thing else? Is 3DMark11 better or DX11 Heaven? OCCT is another option, but idk if its the same category as furmark (un-realistic loads)...

I have a suspicion that it could be my PSU. I have a 700W Epsilon PSU which is about 3 years old now. Also got a zalman fan controller which reads the wall power reading (at peak in Remember Me its like 250W from 100W idle @ desktop). In Dota 2, its like 180-190W.

Furmark and OCCT take the reading to 260-290W.

What about Heaven Benchmark? Or Msi Kombustor? Yeah I heard furmark isnt so popular un-realistic loads so I dont know lol. But I also heard nothing can stress your gpu as much as Furmark can so thats gotta account for something you know?

I guess you got a point on that 1 lol~ Why dont you try Heaven Benchmark? Theres diffrent versions and all but I think thats a good one.For some reason 3d mark did not do it for me.

I ran the OCCT test for 2hrs straight, 0 errors detected, no crash, pulling 298W from the socket and 80C (until I open the case and redirected the AC fins, was 64C then).

I guess its not the graphics card itself. But is it the power supply? If so why it is breaking out at 180W in dota 2, and completely fine at 300W in OCCT? Artifacts can only be from a bad graphics card or PSU not supplying enough juice to the gfx card.

So I upgraded the drivers from Cat 13.1 to 13.4 and didnt see any artifacts in Dota 2 yet. Cant believe drivers can still be a source of problem at this day and age tongue.gif

Still testing though.
