Next step is to plumb this sample into my loop (will be outside of the case, re-routed with traditional tube). If all goes well, I'll be ordering ~18 of them for my loop. 5/8" od acrylic tube (1/2" id) is cheap at my local store (~$4 for six feet). I haven't heard or seen anyone try 16mm tube (other then sli links) for the entire loop. Ppcs.com has the female fittings (ones I ordered) but you can order directly form EK (both male and female in male nickel or black nickel). Nickel finish is ok but I plan to spray paint them satin black.

You should have waited my good sir, we got the black ones in today, go on sale this week would be my guess.

It didn't work out. The tube dislodges very easily with any slight movement (connected to running pump). I'm going with the Primochilll fittings and I'm gonna pickup a bunch of 1/2x3/8 tube at my local store smile.gif

Still kinda of sick so no sleep tonight. Decided to just pull the trigger:

-5x PrimoChill Rigid Ghost Compression Black 4-pack (20x fittings total). HellFirePc on ebay has the best price but not all the colors.

-5' of 9mm x 4mm silicone tube shore 70 from macmastercarr.com (cheapest and its slightly smaller then 3/8")

-3x Mayhems Sunset Yellow Pastel concentrates

edit: going back to e-plastics today or tomorrow. Hopefully then can exchange the bigger tube for the 1/2" od one and I'll be purchasing a few more to practice my bending skills smile.gif

Thanks guys thumb.gif

Things just shipped so now its a waiting game. Only update is that i was able to return the second 5/8 tube and get credit towards 1/2" tube. Ended up paying a few $s for 24 feet of acrylic tube. Enough to practice biggrin.gif. i'm hoping the silicone is delivered tomorrow so I can practice this week.

For comparisons: primochill 1/2 clear tube is ~$17 + s/h for ~8' of tube (4x 24" tubes). While the eplastics.com acrylic tube was ~$9 for 24 feet, 288in (4x 72' tubes).

What interesting venture w/ acrylic tube. In the end, I was not happy with some of the results. I believe this is well suited for smaller and less complex loops with plenty of room. Or very large cases such as MM or case labs. Sold all my Ghost fittings and made most of my money back. Treated myself to a new cpu block (Supremacy plexi/copper) so I can show off the Pastel Yellow. Going to stick with good old nylon tube. Ordered 14' of Primochill Advance LRT w/ the cpu block. Hopefully they arrive soon. Pastel arrives this wednesday. Still a little unsure if 3 bottles (3L) would be enough for my loop. Changed a few things around as well in the loop order to start plumbing things again.

sorry to hear about the hard tubing. any tips as to what didn't work out for you? I am thinking of doing hard tubing in my HAF XB soon with soft tubing for the external rad(s).

If your loop is simple you can make it work. I do like the Primochill Ghost fittings. Take your time and don't concentrate the heat on single spot.

Here's what the loop ended up like:

The cpu to gpu run gave my the most frustration. I really wanted fluid lines so I guess that's why ppl spend a ton on rotary angle adapters to minimize the acrylic bends. A few of them cracked and broke completely as most likely the acrylic was bent a tad too far. I only spent ~$10 on the tube so I felt this was a rewarding experience to learn something new. for now, nylon tube will do the job better for my rig smile.gif. I have it all mocked up with my old green LRT and Advance.
