The screenshot can be seen from the exposure, this phone 's code MI3, its running Android 4.2.2 system, and screen resolution to 1080p level, equipped with frequency 1.81GHz NVIDIA Tegra processor, it can be inferred It should be the Tegra 4 a.
From millet three generations in GFXBench 2.5 Offscreen (1080p) is achieved under the 5414 (47.9fps), came in behind it are equipped Xiaolong 600 (GPU Adreno 320) processor's native version of HTC One, HTC One, native Version GS4 (GT-I9505), etc., it seems Tegra 4's GPU performance is good.

Considering its not even in the market yet and its getting released same time as Snapdragon 800, Nvidia has a lot more work to do here. Nvidia had their honeymoon phase with Tegra 3. Now the real test to see if they can beat the dragon.

They cant...

This is Tegra 4, not Tegra 4i. Tegra 4 doesnt have LTE built on the SoC. So nvidia created a weaker version with LTE (Tegra 4i). If you look at the image, there is one Tegra 4 smartphone, the xiao MI 3, and its beating qualcomms snapdragon 600 by 2-4 FPS. Which is roughly 8% better... Except the it has no LTE, drains your battery life insanely fast, and the snapdragon 600 is no longer the flagship chip, there are already released phones with the 800 chip.

So apples to apples, 4i vs 800, 800 wins hands down, and is more efficient.

Tegra 4 or 4i? I'd presume the latter as it has 80% of the cores, and the benchmark vs the Shield is close to that.

yep i'm aware. Tegra 4i has A9 cores vs A15 on the Tegra 4. HUGE difference. I didn't believe it at first. But Nvidia can only do so much when it is ARM that can't design a low power chip high performance chip. By the time ARM gets there, Intel will catch up and from the looks of it ARM is not going to like the Big Blue taking the front row seat. And in mobile chip race there is no second row!! Qualcom DOMINATES every phone literally. (not counting China lol)

Gpu is slightly gimped (60 cores vs 72 cores on t4) yea but the cpu on Tegra 4i is MUCH weaker than Tegra 4.

The benchmark difference is more likely from the phone's Tegra 4(clocked at 1.81Ghz instead of 1.9Ghz) throttling due to a phone's TDP envelope, the Shield's Tegra 4(with a large heatsink) doesn't have such limitations.
