welp. my guess is the CPU's are to blame. the WiiU, Xbone and PS4 respectively sport GPU's on par with a 6670, 7790 and 7870. more than enough for 1080p and good frame rates with direct to metal coding. The CPU in the more expensive consoles however is not fit for even a laptop. The Wii U while having an older single core chip still has a desktop quality cpu. i think this is why only Wii U games were shown and playable running in full 1080p and 60fps. The PS4 did not use a PC under the curtain like the Xbone, but unlike the Xbone games shown nothing on PS4 ran smooth at all. everything was 30fps and lower, not even steady.SOURCE
1) The CPU in WII U is garbage, and not in any way "Desktop quality". Not even x86.
The obvious suspect would be the Wii U's 1.2GHz CPU, a tri-core piece of hardware re-architected from the Wii's Broadway chip, in turn a tweaked, overclocked version of the GameCube's Gekko processor.
2)Most WII U games Don't run at 1080p/60fps. This includes third party titles such as call of duty, which ran at 720p with performance issues.
3)Xbox One and PS4 Cpus are not bad. This custom Cpu has twice as many cores as the commercial version.
4) A lot of Xbox One and PS4 titles run at 1080P.
hey angry man, the Wii U games shown at E3 in the year 2013(our present, nice links from 2012) are 1080p running at 60 fps. the wii u cpu is pretty bad and old(as i said pretty clearly), but at least it's not made for a cell phone. it's made for a game machine. idc if the Xbone/ps4 had a super prototype version of a tablet apu from 2016, it's still made for a tablet and not a proper gaming machine. it shows in all the PS4 software. it's more mature and further along than xbox one, it's not run on a PC behind a sheet like xbox one, and NO game can run higher than 30 fps on it.
that list you gave is pathetic. so every upcoming wii u game is 60 fps, most xbox one games aren't, but are targeting it(just like devs said right before the 360 came out) and the ps4 games are also targeting 1080p(just like ps3 games were targeting it). wow, are you ok? did your inner console fanboy spur you to make a fool of yourself so hard even though your link backs my argument? feel for ya man, right in the feels.
even the "confirmed" cases from EA and Activison will change by launch, just like BF3 and the other CoD games. you might get 60 fps or you might get 1080p...but going by history you won't be getting both.Edited by FLCLimax - 7/8/13 at 12:30pm
