reference 7970 heatsink question ( separate the copper heatsink from the black metal frame )

I was wondering if anyone tried to separate copper heatsink from the black metal frame (that cools the VRM, and memory chips) so I can use the metal frame with a corsair h50

Do you have a shim because the die is recessed, its not flat with the top of the chip. Otherwise you may need to use it with the copper piece. Can we see a pic of the top of the factory memory/vrm heatsink?

dwood is not accepting any gpu bracket order at this time, and I will get a shim for the h50 when I can order the bracket from him.

This is a SAPPHIRE 100352-4L 7950 using a 7970 reference design with the reference cooler
