Titanium HD problems. - Page 2

Smart man, I regret putting Windows 8.1 on my computer. Some of the changes are nice, but for goodness sake there's no drivers out for many apps I use.

Does your Bother have a singe slot GPU? Maybe an 8800GT/9800GT?

Is your warranty still good? Maybe Gigabyte will replace it.

Microcenter/Newegg are sold out of the UD7.

Not sure if the spacing of the PCIe slots on the Crosshair V Formula-Z allows for Tri-fire and a Soundcard. Sabertooth 990FX may do it though.

Yeah I want to undo it. It broke Start8 and undid my custom tiles, im still upset over it. Plus search still sucks as they still make you select a category.

I should have used Hyper-V to make a Windows 8 VM and installed 8.1 on that. Im scared to look in device manager to see what other drivers it broke besides Catalyst and my Sound card.

My brother has a Radeon HD 4890. Suffice to say, it's a dual-slot GPU. I don't have any spare single-slot GPUs around. I suppose I could buy a cheap one though, hopefully I get that free Radeon HD 6450 being offered.

Lemme check if my warranty is good. I think it is. But seeing as the motherboard was damaged by me, I doubt they'll replace it.

I'm planning to upgrade to Steamroller if I can get the money, so if a new motherboard is required for some new features of Steamroller, I'll be looking at a motherboard upgrade. If the PCI-E slot had remained working, I would remain with my current motherboard.

I may be unhappy that I lost the PCI-E slot, but I don't notice the difference between onboard and my Titanium HD. My ears are not good, however. Even when a person is talking at a typical volume, I have to ask what they said because I'm not sure what the person has said. Maybe my brother will notice a difference. He's using a $10 headset though, so he's probably noticing no difference.

Steamroller is supposed to launch with the 1090FX chipset. But then again I didn't see anything about it at Computex.

Im pretty sure the warranty will cover accidental damage. Plus you could always play dumb.

If you don't notice a difference then I wouldn't worry about it too much.
