For more than two months I am eager to learn whether L1 cache is twice as fast (compared to 3rd generation) as one review (using Sandra) claimed.

Sin posted his stock speed one in the Gigabyte thread, I've copied it here:

LL

I only have the trial version, but here's my overclocked result:

Thanks Forceman, I am stunned how BIG the numbers are!

Just attached the L1 cache results obtained on fastest computer I was able to test a 2nd generation Core i3:

I don't know how this HUGE speedup has been left unnoticed?!

Intel Core i3 2310M 2095MHz, L1 cache read: 67,012MB/s
Intel Core i7 4770K 3600MHz, L1 cache read: 916,431MB/s

3600:2095 = 1.7 << 916,431:67,012 = 13.6

BRUTALICIOUS!

We already know the ring bus is pretty damned fast, that's why I set it at x35 for a x46 overclock and barely got a performance hit.

I'm sorry for the possible misleading - new AIDAs have multi-threaded speed tests opposing to Everest and AIDAs up to 2 something.

I have asked one of guys writing AIDA, for more info:
http://forums.aida64.com/topic/1326-new-cache-and-memory-benchmarks-in-aida64-v300/?p=7568

In short, they target reporting the bandwidth squeezing everything they can ... squeeze.

Forceman, i guess you are not running your overclock in 1:1 ratio?

These are my results with 4.4GHz running with 4.4 uncore:

Thanks t0tum,
you are the man who at last helped me to see what I have been looking for.

1,120,228 MB/s > 1TB/s

CRAZY!!!

No, I have 36x for the uncore. I was going to try to bump it back up a little know that I've dialed in the rest of my settings, but then I figured why bother. I can live with the imperceptible performance drop rather than have to deal with possible instability.
