I disagree unless he has a Thermal material defect on his vrms it should be perfectly fine at 4ghz considering its a 8 phase board.

To op. Did you install those other monitoring software's i gave you. If so post some of your temps on your vrms and cpu under load.(you should have a sensor there if you use your gigabyte monitoring sw) Make sure to enable hpc and id leave the power saving features off until you get a stable overclock then add them one at a time.

thats fine, you can disagree, ive had both boards, and was in the same boat he was (about the throttling) so i cant speak for everyone but i did tell him thats what happened to me.

All right friends !

HPC mode removed my throttling completly ! I am no longer throttling , cpu temp reaches max 56 wich is still high for this cpu cooler but this is prolly cause of how i applied the thermal paste.
Als I do have to say that I once opend pc to check how everything is working, and I put pc on. CPU Fan doesnt start turning untill pc is in WINDOWS. and sometimes it didnt turn at all ( didnt wait 230 mins tho, so might still have turned) And if i gave it a little, gentle push it started turning and kept turning whole time..

Im not sure wich program to download from that gigabyte site but thats hwinfo + core temp, note that i opend core temp a bit after starting the intel burn test.. hence why my minimum temp is so high tongue.gif

I can't read a lot of whats going on there (crap laptop screen) but you should try gigabytes monitoring software "Easy Tune6" which is under the cpu/memory support and downloads tab then just select utility instead of driver under download type. This should give you a vrm sensor i believe then run stress test and tell us what you get

Also regarding your fan issue can be tested by using a molex adapter and seeing if it stars turning by itself. Normally i replace the stock fans as soon as i can on air coolers for noise reasons but this should at least tell you if its your mobo or the fan.

Alright will do this later today need to build some furtniture :/

As for the cooler, it was first designed without a fan and the model i have is with a fan, it should be good with their stock fan noise doesnt bother me, the case cuts a lot of sound and im used to have a lot more sound from my previous pc rofl tongue.gif

I thought you said it wasn't starting up on its own and why not chuck a second on it now that I'm looking at it.

Well not all the time, i just tested 3-4 times. Thing is, might sound silly but I couldnt plug it into the motherboard myself.. talking bout the CPU FAN cable.. Had to remove my Rear fan and ask my GF with her smaller hands to put the cable in it and even for her it was tight, she actually hurt herself, so want to avoid taking things off xD

When ill change thermal paste ill put that on my list to check:

Check CPU FAN
Put thermal paste properly
put SSD sata cable in the correct port so i dont have pciee Bad

Anyway I have easy tune now, checking where to see those vrm temps and ill stress test and send a pic

well if you can talk h
into just pulling it out(she doesn't have to reach all the way down to the motherboard, just gently pull by the wire straight out) and the plug it into a molex adapter from your psu, which should be easy for you to reach since you can put it anywhere. If it doesn't start up right away every time you turn it on its just going to get worst most likely.
