"Girlfriendly" gaming rig

As I have moved in with my girlfriend I have to move my computer into plain sight because it can´t be in the bedroom anymore. What I am basically looking for is a neutral form factor case that is close to completely silent when running idle. I also appreciate having a silent as possible computer when running games. The games I run are BF3, Skyrim and a few different Valve games. I also want to play BF4 and the new DayZ. I looked at different Bitfenix Prodigy builds and I must say I love the case, but I am up for other suggestions. My gf also thinks it´s acceptable to have in our living room.

Here´s the tricky part:
I want to make this project as cost efficient as possible as I have to buy a new keyboard and monitor aswell. I thought there may be a possibility that I could use some of my old parts for now:
- i5 2500k w/ Noctua NH-U12P/Scythe Shuriken
- Msi GTX 560ti "hawk" edition (silent my ass, so kinda really want to get a new one)
- ASUS P8P67-M B3
- Corsair 4GB DDR3 XMS3 2x2GB
- OCZ Agility 3 120GB
- WD Caviar Green 2tb 5400rpm (This is not something I need to have in the PC, but it would be great as I also use the PC for storing pictures)
- 3 pieces of Noctua NF-S12B-FLX case fan 120mm
- 2 pieces of Noctua NF-R8 silent case fan 80mm
- Cooler Master Silent Pro M600 600w

My budget for the internal parts are around 1-1,5k USD at the moment. I may be willing to pay extra for really good and silent cooling too. I also live in a country where the parts cost around 10-20% more than at newegg so keep in mind that I need to calculate a little buffer.

Hope you guys got a few good suggestions as I don´t really know what to get as I have not looked at pc parts for 2 years.

The fractal design define mini might be a good choice, small, sleek, soundproofed, more room than the prodigy.
If I remember correctly, gigabyte graphics cards with the windforce coolers on them are pretty quiet.

The direct CU cooler by Asus also runs pretty quiet. Perhaps a gtx 760.'0
Define Mini is indeed the case you want.
Most of the above will run silently,so not much to change

Should I invest in a better upgrade than the gtx 760? What about the gtx 780?

The define mini is pretty sleek and nice aswell. Should I go watercooling for as low noise as possible? The prodigy may be better then?

I really appreciate the feedback, guys.

I am not a girl, but I got a girlfriend that is not a gamer (shame though) and as a couple we make decisions regarding what to have in the apartment as a couple. I know if I would have just bought an ugly noisy computer my girlfriend would get annoyed every time I use it. I am just taking a few precautions.

I built a pc for my g/f including an 2500k, gtx760, and an FT03 mini case. She is in love with it. If space is at a premium or your SO just don't like big box computers I would look into iTX cases like the prodigy you mentioned.

lol is your current PC that noisy?

Demand that your gf get a watercooled oven and hoover then biggrin.gif just kidding smile.gif

No - but on a more serious note - I would advise you get a watercooler for the CPU if you want more silence.

And if you're looking at a case that isn't too "complicated" or "ugly", then you might want to look at the Corsair Carbire 300R or 400R ?

If you read the first post you can easily figure out this isn't a build for a girl, its a build for a guy who wants to keep his gf happy by not having an annoying computer.

You did actually read the first post right?
