Beginner Build, asking for general advice and part replacement, and critique on my decision making.

Thread Starter
Hello everyone.
I came here to ask for advice as I am quite new to this whole "building your own computer" thing.
I did some research over the past few days and brought together parts which suit my needs.

My goal for this build was a cheap price for a good performance overall.
I am quite sure that the selected parts work together, but I am not sure if my decision making was all that correct.

I have uploaded my build on a website, here is the link to it:

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1eu66

Any kind of review is greatly appreciated.
I am also more than willing to replace parts if you give a reason why something I chose may not be as suitable as I thought it would be.

Additional Notes:
I believe my case is outdated, so was I told by a friend, but I have not found a replacement for it.
I usually do not like these "LED" cases anyhow, just something simple is much prefered.

Everything works together fine. It all looks good to IMO as long as your not looking to overclock like crazy. You'd need a little better cooler and probably board if you're looking to do that. Personal preference I'd probably change the case and power supply. Case just because there are some great cases for a little more cash (especially if you can find some sales). Also, I'm not really familiar with that power supply and that's why I'd change it, but if reviews are good go for that one. You could probably get away with a 520 or 550W power supply too unless you plan on upgrades later on. Heck you could probably go even lower, but I'm not a PSU pro. Looks pretty good though.

I'm not a an of those bulky metal heatsinks either, but I guess people use them so they can't be that bad. Once I went liquid I never went back =x

Haswell is out, why buy old tech? 4570K, not 3570K and a socket 1150 mobo to match.

EDIT: And the GTX 760's just came out too for $40-$50 more, I'd spring for that over a 660. COnsiderably faster.
