Triple monitor suggestions needed please.

Thread Starter
Evening guys......

Ok I have a single 27" Asus monitor now ( VK278Q ) and am thinking of going to a triple monitor setup.....but I'm not sure what to get here. If I get two more 27" monitors , they will fit on my desk , but they won't leave much room for anything else. So I was thinking maybe a pair of 25" maybe?

OR....( and this would give me even more room on my desk )....what about getting two smaller ones and turning them on their side in portrait mode ( is that even right? ).

For you guys that are running a 27" monitor in the middle.....what would you guys suggest?

BTW.....I'll be running a 2600K running two Saphire 3GB 7970 Dual-X video cards.

I have 3 24" inch monitors, but I would imagine that the bezel would be really strange using different sized monitors. just my 2cents.gif
For best results I suggest that you get 3 of the same monitors.

Definitely get three of the same, especially if you like uniformity.

Remember that if you're gaming in surround, all monitors must run at the same resolution and refresh rate. So a 120Hz monitor with two 60Hz each side wouldn't be so great.

It really depends what you'll be using it for. You're the best at assessing your needs and uses for your monitors.
Those monitors are priced well though, and three of the same would look much better.

Thanks for the help guys! It's something I really didn't want to hear though....as 3 of the 27" screens are going to completely rape my desktop area. I have seen quite a few people run the two outside ( but smaller ) monitors on the side in portrait and thought that may be the way to go and would save me some desk space. I'm really not sure what to do now. I may end up selling this one then and down size to 3 smaller screens or something? I almost thought about just getting one of the newer 29" 21:9 monitors........but my luck would have a 32" 21: 9 would come out the very next day.

Damn......I haven't been able to game in 8yrs and I'm building my dream system now which will be done in about a week......I need to figure out my display options.

Definitely 3 exactly same monitors will be the best choice for gaming. Different monitors can cause many problems. If desk-space is a major concern you can buy a triple monitor stand or wall mount them.
